Couple's Succulent Brunch // A DIY Workshop

  • The Plant Shoppe

Forgo the Valentine's Day shenanigans?  Been wanting to take a class with your sweetheart?  Well, here's your chance!  I am excited to host our second workshop geared towards "couples".  This class will be approximately 1.5 hours long, from 10:00am-11:30am on Sunday, February 19th.  We will begin by filling our tummies with coffee and food served by Okay Yeah Co. along with some tasty brunch cocktails.  After brunch, you will then learn the basics of succulents and what they need from you in order to thrive (just like any relationship- you have to work at it!).  Couples will have the option to make just 1 arrangement that they can love on together or 2 arrangements that they can gift to the other (or keep for themselves- whatever!).   Either way, it will be a blast playing in the dirt together.

What you'll get......

  • 1- 8" wooden planter box OR 2- 8"x4" wooden planter box
  • 4- 3.5" succulents + 5- 2.5" succulents
  • potting medium and top dressing
  • instructions and care card
  • brunch and craft cocktails

We want to maintain an intimate learning experience so that everyone leaves feeling good about what they were taught.  So, this class will be limited to only 12 couples.  Registration/Payment is due by February 9th.  Due to the nature of this event, refunds or exchanges will not be made.

Cavett Kids Foundation Benefit // A Fundraising Event

  • Plant Shoppe

Part of the concept behind creating the space that Plant Shoppe and Okay Yeah Co. resides in, was to be able to bring the community together in a inspiring venue where everyone feels at home.  And in providing that, we wish to give back to the community, our wonderful city and to those who have encouraged and supported us along our journey whenever/however we can.  With that said, it is our pleasure to be hosting such an event as this.

The Cavett Kids Foundation works with kids who are battling life-threatening illnesses by helping them develop character, coping and connection.  These kids build an understanding about their diseases, learn interpersonal skills and identify action steps to deal with their social needs.  Increased self-esteem and confidence are the result of such education.  Each year, Cavett Kids helps OVER 12,000 kids through 5 camps, 10 annual events and 2 ongoing programs- all of which are at NO COST to the patients and their families.

So, please join us at the Plant Shoppe on Thursday, September 29th from 6-9pm in an effort to raise money for the Cavett Kids Foundation so they can continue to make an impact on the lives of these kids.

Tickets are $50 and include......

  • scrumptious grub from our local Fuzzy's Taco Shop
  • locally crafted brewskies from Anthem Brewing Company (for those of the legal drinking age)
  • coffee + sips from Okay Yeah Co.
  • a DIY plant bar where you can pot up your own succulent to take home
  • fellowship with the community!

More than 50% of the ticket sales will be donated to the Cavett Kids Foundation!!!  So grab your friends and come hang with us!!!

Thanks to the local businesses who have graciously donated a huge amount of their goods and services so that we could make this event possible.

For more information about Cavett Kids Foundation or to make a donation, please visit cavettkids.org.

Watercolor Calligraphy + Succulents // A DIY Workshop

I am super excited to be collaborating with Krystal, owner of Pen to Paper, on this event. This class will be approximately 2.5 hours long, starting at 2:00pm and lasting until 4:30pm on Sunday, February 28th.  In this class you will learn the basic techniques and technical skills of the watercolor calligraphy art form.  Krystal will teach us how to write the alphabet and help us build our watercolor calligraphy "toolbox".    After a short break, we will then be introduced to succulents.  I will discuss the basic, general care of succulents and what is needed to maintain them year round.  We will then get our hands dirty and make a succulent garden for you to take home.  AND, you will have the opportunity to use the skills you learned from Krystal to personalize your wooden planter box.  Both Krystal and I will be there every step of the way to answer questions and guide you through the process.

Oh, and did I mention that we will have sips + snacks for you?!  A crafted cocktail (along with some non-alcoholic choices) will be provided accompanied by some home-made yummies for you to nibble on throughout the event.

So, here's what you'll get....

  • 3 paintbrushes
  • watercolor palette
  • tracing paper
  • watercolor paper
  • practice guides
  • water palette
  • 12"x5"x3.5" wood planter box
  • 3- 3.5" + 4- 2.5" succulents
  • potting medium and top dressing
  • sips + snacks

And here's what you will leave with....

  • a personalized succulent garden that can be displayed in your own home!  (not to mention the wealth of knowledge and skill learned during the class)

We want to maintain an intimate learning experience so that everyone leaves feeling good about what they were taught.  So, this class will be limited to only 20 students.  Registration/Payment is due by February 17th.  Due to the nature of this event, refunds or exchanges will not be made.
